Location: Nanchang, China

Description:

In order to improve the quality of Nanchang's urban environment and create an exclusive and distinctive urban color image, we are entrusted by Nanchang natural resources bureau to carry out urban color design in the central area of Nanchang. On the basis of studying and analyzing the urban environment and extracting the color characteristics of Nanchang City, we constructed an exclusive recommended urban color spectrum for Nanchang City. In combination with some buildings and street furnitures renovation projects in key sections such as waterfront and mountainous areas, we applied the recommended urban color spectrum to these building facade and street furnitures renovation works, so as to create a local and unique urban color environment for Nanchang. In this project, we are committed to exploring the color gene of Nanchang's traditional culture and natural environment. We analyzed the light environment to find out the color range which suitable for the local climate characteristics, extracted local color genes from Nanchang's beautiful landscape environment, red soil, blue and white porcelain, brass and other specialties. Finally, we selected four major color systems: warm jade gray, sky cyan, golden autumn color and dark cyan gray, and established the recommended urban color spectrum for Nanchang, with warm jade sky blue as the main & auxiliary color and rosy purple gilt as the ornament color. We applied the recommended urban color spectrum to building and street furnitures renovation in key areas, so as to create a color environment with local significance in Nanchang.
