Veretyevo Park

Location: Veretyevo Village, Taldom district, Moscow region, Russia

Description:

Veretyevo Park is located of 7 hectares of primeval chaos where windfall alternates with life-size nettle on the swampy banks of winding creek. The idea was to create a park with minimal impact on wildlife and to discover the idea of park in different times and cultures. The numerous architectural objects emulate the traditional park buildings playing with their forms and senses. All the park's objects and passes are made of pre-used boards of old houses found on ad. The ecological trail makes possible swamp walking and reduces impact on wildlife. Veretyevo Park is a meditative space in the forest wetland where wild nature meets art. “There was a very beautiful swamp here, and our challenge was not to spoil it», - such was a goal of park’s creator Alexander Brodsky, world established architect and artist. Veretyevo Park also restores the old tradition of park reading. Some park’s art objects also host thematic libraries composed mainly of vintage books. Observatory accommodates the collection of Russia poetry, Hermit’s House keeps the books about spiritual quest, there’re the books about travelling on the shelves of the Bridge with Roof.
