Infrastructure complex in the water area of the Verkh-Isetsky pond in Yekaterinburg

Location: Russia, Yekaterinburg

Description:

The design area is located in the northwestern part of the city of Yekaterinburg near the embankment of the Verkh-Isetsky pond. The choice of this location is due to the active development of the city in this direction, as well as the unique natural and landscape conditions. The territory of VIZ-Pravoberezhny is important and promising for the city, it is unique in that it has access to a vast water area, is associated with the historical and cultural value of the territories of the former Verkh-Isetsky plant and has good transport links with the central part of the city. The infrastructure complex is located near the public and business area on the Bolshekonny Peninsula directly on the embankment of the Verkh-Isetsky Pond. The main task of designing the complex on this site is to create an architectural recreational and environmental object, through which history, nature and man will harmoniously interact. The object includes a basic functional content: a music block, an exhibition center, a library, a greenhouse, a hotel, a cinema, cafes and restaurants, a tourist center. A feature of the location of the object is that almost all of its facades face the water. The complex is located in the structure of a multi-tiered architectural and landscape park, with developed traffic scenarios. A rectangular composite grid is superimposed on the territory, passing through it the landscaping of the territory, framing it with architectural forms. In the south of the territory, the object dissolves in the natural environment, in the northeast, the height increases in order to form the figurative and artistic appearance of the building, the main entrance group. At the level of the ground floor, a person opens up architectural elements that are commensurate with him, which nature has mastered. As a person rises, the architectural object begins to dominate, and the landscaping is subject to its compositional grid. At the final point of the movement, the architectural object becomes an observation platform from which a person can see the nature and the water area surrounding it. Thus, the projected complex will provide a modern favorable recreation area for citizens and tourists, provide an opportunity for creative, professional and social self-realization of residents.
