Description:

Centre of Education and Restoration on Skakovaya Alley The historical district of Moscow, located next to the Hippodrome, is now at the peak of a new stage of development; new residential areas of the Tsarskaya Ploshchad, VTB Arena Park, Alcon Tower, and other apart-complexes are being built here. And we suggest the most beloved and traditional buildings of the past should receive a new start and function in order to preserve and maintain the diversity of forms, styles and meanings of a multi-layered historical city. With our project, we propose to restore the lost buildings of the L. Mantashev Stables Ensemble, renovate the facades and interiors of the Stables and the House of the Horse Race Society and to create an educational center with focus on art and restoration on the basis of restored cultural heritage sites. The preservation and restoration of historical and cultural monuments requires competent and enthusiastic specialists. It would be an ideal background for the transfer of knowledge of art and science, crafts and restoration aesthetics, same as the subtleties of the profession. We want the process of education to take place within the walls of the buildings created by recognized masters of Russian architecture. In the House of the Horse Race Society, it is proposed to equip classes for practical training in restoration work, studying of applied disciplines, and sculpture workshops. In the premises of the restored complex of the Mantashev Stables, it is planned to open departments of painting, crafts, and applied arts, and in a separate building it is possible to arrange a Guest House for receiving invited teachers.
