This project is located in Nianing, in Senegal, and consists of creating eight new classrooms and an amphitheater for the public high school of Malicounda. The layout of the classrooms is based on the morphology of xerophytic plants to create an exterior envelope that promotes natural convection. The classrooms themselves are designed in a trapezoidal shape to improve room acoustics. The buildings are passively ventilated. Openings have been made in the lower and upper parts of the classrooms to promote air circulation and cooling. Calculations have shown that the temperature in the building is at least 2 degrees Celsius lower. For the construction of the school, local materials from the area surrounding the site were used. For example, the walls are made of raw earth brick and the ceilings are made of Ronier palm fiber. Shells from the beach were used to cover the floor. The building is completely autonomous thanks to solar panels and rainwater recovery. Full mission, delivered 2021
